YOUR COACH

Andrea Cooper began skating at the age of five and skated during her college years into adulthood.

She specializes in teaching Adult Learn-to-Skate, Freestyle, Moves-In-the-Field, and Adult Pair Skating. Andrea coaches a number of children, too--privately and in group.

"I have a background in "Compulsory Figures," and am available to do "Scribe" work for both children and adult skaters who are working on their Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile, and Novice Moves-in-the-Field tests. A scribe is an ice skating training aid. It is a large compass that was used for practicing compulsory figures, such as the Waltz Eight, Forward Inside and Outside Eight, Back Inside and Outside Eight, and Loops, which have now been reintroduced to Moves-in-the-Field tests. It is very difficult to purchase a scribe, since they have become somewhat of a collectors item. I have a scribe, which will assist you with keeping your circles round!"
